Sorry (to anyone who actually reads this) that its taken so long to post pictures from my week in Powell. I can describe the experience in 4 words: awesome but f'ing hot! I unfortunately succumbed to any travelers worst nightmare day 1; sunburn! I'm not exaggerating when I say I applied no more than 5 times a day and even put in on before I went to bed. The pain eventually subsided and I was able to enjoy the family Reunion.
This is a picture of the entire Petty side of the family, all 10 of us. The back story follows that we haven't been a close family. It sucks to admit that but needless to say this trip was well needed and couldn't have gone better. Our family has such a different dynamic now that all of the grandkids are over 21. Not because thats the drinking age but because we have all started to come into ourselves.... and well, we can drink like its nobody's business. I'm excited to grow old with these people and be involved in each others well being.
Those are our 2 speedboats. Sadie, Kristin and I hiked up to these reunions on the side of the canyon. Its crazy to imagine that where we climbed to the water level used to be there 10 years ago. Considering how big Lake Powell is, thats a huge deal.
I got to catch up on some much needed ZZZ's. I've been worked too hard in Keystone.
Our houseboat. Albeit the weird bathroom smells and non-working fridge, it traveled great distances and provided a homestead for the Petty's.
This is my little sister. She's beautiful and I love this picture.
Hopefully later this week I'll put up a post about the amazing dinner I made last night. Yummm.
